The Panasonic DMC-G1 may look like your typical digital SLR, but without the mirror and the optical viewfinder found in common DSLRs. This allows Panasonic to lessen the camera size and its lenses. It has a 12.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor, Venus Engine HD image processor, and a tilt/swivel type, flip-out 3” LCD display. Instead of an optical viewfinder, it has an ultra-high resolution electronic viewfinder.
The Panasonic DMC-G1 also has a live view capability like a common point-and-shoot digital camera which allows you to tweak the settings and see the results in real time. It has full manual controls and also features Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto Mode.
Like any other DSLRs, the Panasonic DMC-G1 also has a hot shoe for external flash. With a capability of continuous shooting at 3 frames per second and about 350 shots per battery charge, you get to take pictures via its SD or SDHC card slot. Certainly, it is the smallest camera in the market nowadays with interchangeable lenses.
