Your browsing experience will vary among phones. Some have larger screens, and others have better keypads. The speed of the average WAP phone is around 19.2 Kbps, not quick by anyone's standard, but because WAP is all text, it's not a problem. Speed isn't the issue when browsing with a WAP phone, the interface is.
Depending on your phone model, your display may show as little as three rows of text, each only twelve characters across. All the information you browse on the Web has to wrap to fit in this space. You're going to be doing a lot of scrolling to view information and read e-mail. Some newer phones open up to reveal a larger horizontal display that makes WAP browsing a little more enjoyable.
The other drawback with most WAP phones is entering data via the phone keypad. If you've programmed names and contact information into your phone, you know how annoying this can be. It can get tedious when you have to enter user names and passwords using tiny keys so that your finger can't hit just one at a time. Typing in several Web addresses this way can tip a sane person over the edge.
