Canon PowerShot A700

Canon PowerShot A700 is nothing to complain about when it comes to picture quality. With its numerous photographic features, it delivers sharp, clean, and crisp shots in a variety of shooting situations. About its appearance, it still takes the usual “Canon look” of having a boxy and solid finish. But unlike previous 'A' series models, this only carries two AA batteries which makes it less bulky, light weight, and having a shallower grip (advantageous for people with huge hands).

Sporting a retractable 6x optical zoom lens that spans a 35-210mm equiv. range plus a 1xm macro mode, Canon PowerShot A700 adds more resolution to your shooting experience. It carries a 2.5 inch LCD with up to 10x playback zoom for better review of captured pictures and tweaking of image detail with its in-camera image retouching function, the Face Brightener remedies backlight images. It also has a new wide screen resolution that enables photograph enthusiast to explore panoramic-style prints with an affordable camera.

The Canon PowerShot A700 is also the first to have an ISO 800 shooting feature on its release in 2006. It is a feature specifically used when producing small prints so as not to lose too much detail.

The Canon PowerShot A700 can take up to 640x480 pixel movie size for television screens at 30fps. Not to mention having options for lower frame rates, smaller sizes and a “high frame rate” option of 320X240 pixel movies at 60fps. On the whole, quality was never compromised by the Canon PowerShot A700 even in showing movies.
